Municipality of Balchik

Municipality of Balchik is a coastal town located in the North East Bulgaria and has a population of more than 22.000 inhabitants. The town is named after the medieval ruler Balik, and since ancient times several tribes like Thracians, Greeks, Ottomans and Romanians have left their footprint there. The town is a popular tourist destination, also hosting the Balchik Palace, which was the favourite summer residence of Queen Marie of Romania.
