Municipality of Serres

Serres is the second largest city in the regional unit of Central Macedonia, in Greece, with a population of  more than 75.000 inhabitants. Even though the earliest mention of Serres is dating back to 5th century BC, it is believed that the city was founded around 2000 BC. Serres is also famous for the traditional Greek pastry called Bougatsa, which has its origins in the city.
