Join the Abracadabra team on 19 – 20 September 2018 in Paris!
You are cordially invited to attend the 6th International Workshop & Capacity Building Event on the topic:
“Urban densification, energy efficiency and affordability of housing. Architectural solutions and social consequences for the public, cooperative and social housing providers”, on 19 – 20 September 2018 – Paris.
Please register here.
DAY 1 – Capacity Building Event (10:00 – 18:00)
The Capacity Building event aims at demonstrating energy efficiency retrofitting using volume extension and renewables on real case studies, using a set of toolkits (technical, financial and regulatory). This will allow you to build up your knowledge and explore potential financing options that can deliver deep building retrofits!
You have the chance to either bring your own project idea as a case study with you, in this case please contact us beforehand, or observe the other case studies.
Please find the agenda of the event attached:
DAY2 – International Workshop (9:00 – 17:00)
Cities and social housing providers are facing two challenges: how to find the land to build more and cheaper housing units and how to accelerate the renovation of existing homes. To propose common, realistic and not magical solutions- despite its name- to those challenges, the European project ABRACADABRA has tested and implemented measure to increase the urban density by adding habitable space to existing buildings. This extra surface, through the income it creates for the social housing provider, can help finance the renovation of the entire building. It can also help reshape the urban landscape or transform former non-residential buildings into housing units.
Interested to find out more? Join us on September 20th in Paris for the ABRACADABRA International Workshop that will unfold the Architectural solutions and social consequences for the public, cooperative and social housing providers.
We are happy to share that Walid Oueslati, Senior Economist and Team Leader of the Environment and Economy Integration Division at the OECD will deliver a keynote presentation inviting us to rethink Urban Sprawl as per the latest report published by the organisation.

We hope to see you at the International Workshop and the Capacity Buildings session!
