Newsletter2- ABRACADABRA Project invited to the Bucharest Meeting of the European Concerted Action for the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (CA EPBD)

How can we bring the AdoREs approach to legislators in all EU Member States? One opportunity recently presented itself in Bucharest at a meeting of the European Concerted Action for the transposition and implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). Experts delegated by 29 ministries in charge of energy in buildings, representing all EU countries plus Norway, convened there on 25-26 October 2017. Representatives from the ABRACADABRA project, Elena Cattani (UNIBO) and Marcello Antinucci (ECUBA), were invited to a session on financial aspects, and jointly presented the project’s achievements and current policy recommendations. The ensuing discussion was very positive, as the European Commission is actively searching for new financial solutions to promote energy efficiency and renewable energies in building renovation. The topic of building renovation will move from the Energy Efficiency Directive to the EPBD in the proposed update of the two directives.

Some CA EPBD participants showed interest in participating in the International Workshop of 8-9 February 2018 in Brussels.
